Project Engineer (Industrial) Full-Time

Job Summary

Fit is seeking a Project Engineer to join a growing engineering firm in Louisville, KY. This person will work with the engineering team to establish project requirements, direct and review the designers detailed drawing packages, analysis and design of steel tank structures with shallow and deep foundations, and develop drawing packages to communicate design information. Pay is in the $90K-$100K range with competitive benefits.


Job Description

  • Analysis and design of API storage tanks
  • Review of contract documents and drawings
  • Coordinate engineering activities with internal and external groups
  • Detailed drawing packages necessary to perform all phases of shop fabrication and field documentation for review such as bills of material, shipping lists and material summaries
  • Assist with support of Sales Department by preparing bid sketches and quantity summaries


Job Requirements

  • Registered Professional Engineer with a BS Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with Structural emphasis
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in tank design and experience with API Tank standards
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and MathCAD
  • Familiarity with AISC ASD/LRFD, ACI318. Knowledge of AWWA D100, API 650
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
