Job Description

Job Description

  • Obtain required contracts and confirming insurance coverages on fee build projects as they start production.
  • Maintain accurate, complete and timely tracking reports on all fee build and draw schedule jobs in production.
  • Gather weekly progress reports from project managers when required.
  • Prepare and distribute invoices for fee builds, private loan jobs and any other billings (including intercompany billings).
  •  Follow up on collection of Accounts Receivable.
  • Monitor closing dates on fee build projects and prepare final settlement statements.
  • Update and maintain the fee build summary spreadsheet.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with credit card statements.
  • Record journal entries in the general ledger (customer deposits, fee build/draw schedule invoices, etc.).
  • Review, obtain approval and pay utility bills and homeowner association dues.
  • Prepare monthly sales and use tax return.
  • Help assemble back up material for the financial audit.
  •  Prepare reports as requested by management.
  • May perform back-up duties for other positions within work group.


Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Five (5) years of bookkeeping or accounting experience in the construction industry, or any equivalent combination of experience and post-secondary education or training.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of payment processing and receipt processing procedures
  • Skilled using Excel and other computer software for financial transactions.
  • Skilled in using common office machinery and equipment.
  • Skilled in mathematical computations used in accounting.
  • Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
